History Channel DETECTIVES Outline
Tone of video: Comedy
- Two History Channel detectives come to the door of Grace Presbyterian Church
- One of the two loudly knock on the door
- Kind old lady opens the door
- Detectives barge in and introduce themselves in a firm manner
- Pastor comes up to the detectives and welcomes them
- Detectives say why they're there (Make it overly serious but ironic in nature)
- Make collection of jokes on how the History Channel says everything in life is caused by aliens
(Virgin Birth, Pyramids, Pontus Pilate, Roman Guards at the Resurrection, The Resurrection itself, The 10 Plagues, language the Apostles spoke. "Clearly the realistic explanation is aliens")
- Have the detectives say something along the lines of "The case is solved!" While the Church goers look at them confused.
Joke Ideas:
- (Pyramids) "You really just manpower can move something so large? I challenge you to give me one example of that!" [Play video of the Amish lifting up and moving a barn] "I challenge you to give me one example that isn't that!"
[Joke can also work with obsidian]
- (Virgin Birth)
"Clearly it wasn't God who gave Mary a child, you have to go to the most rational explanation!"
"What would that be?"
"Aliens!"
- (Roman Guards)
"Well why didn't the Roman guards at the tomb go and tell people that Jesus rose?"
"They were paid off"
"C'mon Pastor, they're not History Channel detectives"
[Comedic cut]

Last Ditch outline
Just do random shots and scenes that fit the requirements for the project
Be funny to distract them from the fact that the shots have nothing to do with the actual video
Add clips of people laughing at me
Make fun of the audience at the end

Script (Updated)
You see this guy over here?
Yeah, stupid
He’s supposed to be at his Church recording for the video you’re seeing right now
Guess where he’s not able to be right now
It’s 8 PM
On a Tuesday
And he has to have his footage by tomorrow
But the Script requires that the recording be done at the Church
He had to rewrite
His entire Script
He had to rewrite
His entire outline
He had to redraw all his story boards
See ya old Storyboards
You’re useless now
But you know who’s the real sucker in all this?
You!

Summary
This project was a lot of fun to do, but man it was hard to get done. Not that the editing portion was hard, but that I had a whole plan of what I was going to do, where I was going to do, etc. And I ended up having to throw it all away and remade the whole video last minute, which is explained in the video itself. I thought it'd be funny to make a video about not being able to make a video.
