how it was made
The Cutting Board was my favorite project to actually make, although I did have a tough time with it at first. In the beginning, I wanted to have Oak, Cherry, and Walnut in my cutting board. But, I was not able to find a single piece of scrap cherry at the time, other classmates were also not able to find any cherry as I would come to find out. So instead I came up with a simpler design with a striped pattern of maple and walnut (Walnut was also extremely difficult to come by). Then when I got all my pieces together it was time to glue. I had also messed up the gluing process and got glue all over the table, which I then spent the rest of the period cleaning up. I would then get up the next morning, and have to scrape a bunch of the glue off of the cutting board. Now this is the fun part. My first time using the Planer was kinda a wreck, since I was very scared to mess the whole thing up. There was no walnut left in the room at that point. So I planed down the cutting board to the point where there was no glue in either side, and it was flat. I would then go over to the table saw and cut off the tails of the cutting board. Then I would go over to the router and give all of the sides a round over, it was quite easy since I already did it on the Peg Game. All I had to do at that point was sand the Cutting Board, I had the bright idea to make the corners rounded, so I went over to the disk sander and did just that. The sanding didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to, so I went to the Orbital sander's and used that to make the curve smooth and much more curvy. Then all I had to do from there was just to sand it and finish it.
The Stand to the cutting board was a much easier process since its just like the cutting board, just 3 dimensional, I first went and got a very long piece of wood and cut it in half. both sides of that piece of wood would come to be the sides to the Stand, I would then go and cut one of the sides into a half circle shape on the Band Saw, and then put it on top of the other half, draw the shape out and cut that one out on the band saw, then I would go use them on the Disk Sander to make them, one, smoother, and two, in the shape I want them to be. I would then go and find a piece of wood that had the perfect thickness for the middle of the Stand. So I'd cut out a small piece of that wood and glue it between the two sides. I would then the next day scrape off the glue, and then use the disk sander to make everything flat on top of each other, sand it until its smooth, and then just put finish on it.
What I learned
For the Cutting Board I learned a bunch of new stuff, such as.
1: I learned that you can use wood glue to glue pieces of wood together in order to make a multicolored piece of wood.
2: I learned how to use the Planer, I had never used one before then, It's actually the most fun machine in my opinion.
3: I learned how to use the table saw, I'd seen them before, but had never used one myself.
4: I learned that the Band Saw is very flexible, I used them before but only to go into straight lines.
5: I learned how to use an Orbital Sander, I never even thought of a possibility of something like that being in your hand.

Conclusion
For this Project, I feel that this is the most significant out of all of them. Firstly the Project opened me up to many new idea's such as, Gluing, since I had no idea that glue could actually be so effective, I had honestly thought that it was impossible to glue two pieces of wood together and they become as strong as steel. There was also, Planing, which I had never knew was a thing, it wasn't even in the middle school wood shop. The Project had taught me that other objects could be used to get into small crevices, like the small holes we put in the Stand. A whole new array of idea's came forth, while also being grounded in what I already knew.
