We had to take many safety tests this year in Woodshop
Band Saw:
The Band Saw is a tricky yet simple machine at the same time. Yes it is very similar to the table saw, and yes there are not very many components to using the Table Saw, but the main problem and general thing that scared me was that it is the only machine in the classroom that is able to do cuts that is used for making curves in the material. So I had to get used to that, other than that though, I had no troubles with the Band Saw.

The Table Saw:
The Table Saw in my opinion is the simplest Machine due to the fact all you have to do is push a piece of wood through the saw, now don't get me wrong, The Table Saw is still extremely dangerous if you're not careful, plus there's the fact that you can make dado cuts with the table saw in which you will have to put your hand over the saw, but if you stay safe, and pay attention to what you're doing, you'll be fine.

The Planer:
The Planer is a very unique type of machine, only rivaled by the Lathe. The Planer is used to either level a piece of wood or to just make the height of the wood shorter, there are a couple of basic rules to the Planer such as, make sure the height is at most 1/8 of an inch away from the height of the wood, or don't put in any wood that is less than 12 inches long and my favorite rule, don't stick your fingers into the machine. But if you follow those basic things you can't mess it up, its really that easy!

The Lathe:
The Lathe, in my opinion, is the most unique of all of the machines in wood shop since its the only machine that you 1, can actually touch the machine while its running (in fact, you have to put your hand directly on the wood at some points) and 2, you control the tools that cut to wood. Its sorta like those clay pottery machines that you use to form clay into a cup or bowl.

The Sliding Compound Miter Saw:
This saw is, unlike the Radial arm saw, Is the most useful of all of the saw's, or at least the ones that cut in a straight line. Since this saw can cut a straight line in any form you want, whether you want to just want to cut a really long board into 2, or you want to get a nice angle in the cut, or maybe you just wanna turn your piece of wood into a trapezoid! You can pretty much do anything!
