The Slow Car Race was probably the most difficult of our races, only due to the sheer amount of gears we had to use.
The Car was a 5/3 gear ratio, but don't let that fool you, simplified that gear ratio is 225/6. Now, you might be wondering, how did the number get so high? Well the answer is Compound Gear Ratios! Compound Gears are basically gears spinning on the same axle, this causes the gears to spin at the same speed as each other, unlike simple Idler gears which spin relative to the Driver gear. this can either give the car a massive increase in either torque or speed. The main problem with our Slow Car was the sheer instability of the whole thing. We tried to cram as many gears into the contraption as possible and as a result, the car couldn't even go backwards, but it still moved forwards, and we still got a B, so it's a win in my book.
